Blake Monroe is ready to defend the NXT Women’s North American Championship next week on Gold Rush. After finding out her possible opponent this past Tuesday, Monroe teased something huge.
At Halloween Havoc, Monroe defeated Zaria to become the new NXT Women’s North American Champion. Zaria tried to defend the title on behalf of Sol Ruca, who wasn’t cleared to return from her knee injury. On the latest episode of NXT, The Glamour spoke to General Manager Ava regarding her upcoming title defense next week. The daughter of The Rock confirmed that her opponent would be Ruca as long as she gets the green light from WWE’s medical team.
Toward the end of the segment, someone called Blake Monroe on the phone. Ava even tried to check who Monroe was talking about as her “better half,” but she was called out for being nosy.
“You nosy girl. I’ve gotta go. My better half is asking for an exclusive interview next week,” Monroe said.
An exclusive interview next week with @BlakeMonroeWWE?!
It’s going to be GLAMOROUS! 💫@avawwe_ pic.twitter.com/C76mzHJP90

It will be interesting to see if Blake Monroe’s better half is an on-screen boyfriend or possibly an on-screen partner. Sol Ruca will likely have Zaria by her side, so it would be fair for Monroe to have someone back her up at Gold Rush.
Blake Monroe takes a shot at Ava
Despite being the NXT General Manager and the daughter of The Rock, Blake Monroe did not shy away from talking down to Ava.
The reigning NXT Women’s North American Champion took a personal shot at the fourth-generation star of the Anoa’i family.
“Yes Ava I said better half, good luck finding one for yourself,” Monroe tweeted.
While Ava isn’t in an on-screen relationship with anyone, she seemingly went public with her real-life partner. The 24-year-old authority figure teased being with NXT star Tatyanna Dumas, who primarily appeared on LFG this past year.
The two even appeared in public together at the premiere of The Smashing Machine, starring The Rock. They also took pictures together with The Final Boss, who generated quite a buzz with his performance as Mark Kerr in the biopic.
