Tonight’s episode of WWE NXT saw the return of ECW legend Tommy Dreamer after 3634 days.
The legend appeared in the front seats alongside TNA President Carlos Silva ahead of the Triple Threat Women’s Knockout World Championship bout between Jordynne Grace vs. Kelani Jordan, vs. Lei Ying Lee.
The back-and-forth between the three women lasted several minutes, and fans saw a new Women’s Knockout World Champion crowned as Ying Lee connected with a lateral press on Jordan, becoming the new titleholder.
With her win, Lei officially reclaimed the title for TNA; the president, Silva, wrapped the gold around her waist. Meanwhile, Dreamer stayed in the front row of the crowd.

WWE veteran stunned by crowd reactions to John Cenaβs last RAW appearance
Speaking on the Busted Open podcast, Tommy Dreamer drew comparisons between John’s appearance in his hometown on RAW and then at Madison Square Garden, and the ECW legend was stunned to discover that New York fans gave the Cenation Leader a louder pop than his own home crowd.
Cena’s appearance at the MSG edition of WWE Monday Night RAW also marked his final episode of Red Brand, where he competed as an in-ring talent.
“If I’m comparing last week’s show to this week’s show, I think the fans were louder for John Cena in Madison Square Garden than they were in Boston.” He continued, “The energy for that in Madison Square Garden, a lot of replays, but different. The show opens up with John, and this eruption. You can feel that energy, how it came across on television. It was great. Listen, John Cena and his last ever Monday Night RAW. I just thought this selling point was Cena’s last time at Madison Square Garden and his last ever Monday Night RAW, and it totally delivered.”
That said, it will be interesting to see whether this ECW legend’s one-off appearance in WWE or if he will appear on occasion later to represent TNA.
