WWE immediately released a top star after he criticized them on social media. The effect was almost instantaneous.
Ridge Holland has been told that his WWE contract has now ended
A few weeks ago, amid several releases by WWE, the company also let go of Ridge Holland, informing him that they would not be renewing his contract. The star has been out with an injury for some time. He competed in TNA representing the company, but he picked up an injury and was left unable to compete for at least six months after his last date. This meant that after his contract expired mid-November, while they would be paying for his rehabilitation, he would not be getting paid.
Fightful Select has now reported in breaking news that Ridge Holland’s deal has been terminated early. Within WWE, the word is that his recent posts criticizing the company were considered a breach, and the call was made to let him go early. His contract was set to run until mid-November, but the report now states he won’t be paid for the remainder of the term.
It is expected that they will continue providing for his rehabilitation, as they would almost surely be open to legal action should they refuse to do so as well.
Triple H is usually the one who decides who goes and who stays. The report did not state if he was the one behind this decision as well.

Ridge Holland was not in the best situation in WWE
To add to the harsh situation surrounding Holland, he chose to move to NXT to build himself up from the ground up once again and signed a developmental contract, which was nowhere near the same amount he was receiving as a main roster star.
The star has been understandably vocal and worried about his family and the next few months after he was stuck, unable to work, and without any sort of pay as well.
The company’s move was completely unexpected.
