“The plan is already in place” – WWE getting sold again just three years after being acquired by Endeavor, claims veteran

In what could be one of the biggest news stories of the year if there was even an iota of truth to it, there are allegedly plans for WWE to be sold again. On a recent episode of his The Brand podcast, Vince Russo claimed that he had heard from reliable sources that the global juggernaut could be sold to Saudi Arabia soon.

In April 2023, the unthinkable happened when the McMahon family relinquished its control over WWE by selling it to Endeavor. At the same time, the company has built a strong association with Saudi Arabia, with the upcoming Royal Rumble 2026 and next year’s WrestleMania confirmed to take place in the country.

Amid this, Vince Russo is claiming that their equation might be so strong that Saudi authorities could be planning to acquire WWE altogether soon. On the latest edition of The Brand, Russo said that he had heard from inside sources that the plans for the massive sale were already in place.

“Now I’m starting to hear things on my end that there is no question, and the plan is already in place that they’re going to sell this company to the Saudis. I am hearing very, very, very strongly from people on the inside.” said Vince Russo. (H/T – TJRWrestling)

Vince Russo is not in favor of WWE conducting WrestleMania 43 in Saudi Arabia

A couple of months back, on Sportskeeda’s Writing with Russo, the former WWE writer criticized the company’s decision to have WrestleMania 43 take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Vince Russo mentioned that American fans might be apprehensive about traveling to the Middle East due to safety concerns.

“They have no idea where Saudi Arabia is. So when you tell them Saudi Arabia, they think it’s halfway across the world. They’ve got no idea where it is.” He continued, “So the fact of the matter is that this is halfway across the world. There’s gonna be stereotypes with those types of people, with these types of fans who are not educated, and then the money. The money is like third, bro. First, you don’t even know where it is, you don’t even think about going in. Second of all, am I going to be in danger? Is it safe? I think that’s the one that gonna turn the most people away because that’s the unknown.”

While WWE and Saudi Arabia certainly share a great working partnership, only time will tell if there’s any truth to Vince Russo’s claims about a potential sale.
