WWE has had some issues with ticket sales over the past few months, with Nick Khan claiming that ticket prices have risen at the same rate as marketplace value.
That being said, it seems to be a problem for WWE at present because there are reports stating that the Triple H-led company is struggling to sell just 4,000 tickets for SmackDown on December 19 in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
The show will obviously be expected to have a smaller crowd, given that it’s just six days before Christmas, but it seems that they have still only been able to sell just over 1,000 tickets for the event.

This could be the start of issues for the company when it comes to ticket sales heading into 2026, since they have changed the approach that Vince McMahon had set out when he was the Chairman.
WWE has had some backlash over the past few months
WWE fans have shared in recent months that they have been priced out by the rising cost of tickets. While inflation has a lot to do with the price hike, there is also the new vision for the company under TKO.
Meanwhile, Vince McMahon always pushed to make wrestling affordable for families because he was aware that the next generation needed to be hooked to allow the business to continue. In some cases, McMahon was losing money in order to make wrestling accessible for the youngest generation.
That being said, the company has been sold and is now on Netflix, and it seems that it is being run primarily with a business mindset. There is still a month to go until December 19, but it will be interesting to see if the status of ticket sales changes.
There could be a number of reasons why the sales for this particular episode of SmackDown are so low, but it’s worth noting that the January 5 episode of RAW has already sold 3,000 tickets.
