Fightful Select reported on the situation withTommaso Ciampa during their recent Q&A. Ciampa has not been backstage in recent weeks, and at this time, Johnny Gargano is being effectively considered a singles star, and not a tag team star. Given that he seems to be in a rivalry with Nathan Frazer and Axiom, this is an interesting case, as it remains to be seen how it will go.
The report said that as to the actual Ciampa situation, those close to him were focused on respecting his privacy on the situation, given that he has not spoken up. However, they did say that the report by Bodyslam was correct.
The said report spoke on Tommaso Ciampa’s plans. It said that his contract was coming up and that the star currently planned on not renewing his contract and leaving the company. He wanted to finish his contract and end his 11 year run with the company there.

Further updates are awaited as to the reason for Ciampa’s decision. While he has not been featured prominently on the main roster as a threat, he has held the WWE tag titles with Johnny Gargano twice in the last two years.
This leaves Johnny Gargano in an odd situation, as he has mostly been tag team oriented for almost the last three years now.
It remains to be seen what he does next and whether WWE and Triple H decides to give him a push in the coming months. For the moment, the scenario around him is uncertain, as his feud with Fraxiom may also end without a tag team match given that Ciampa may not appear again.
