A WWE champion was forced to relinquish his title. Now, more details about the situation have emerged.
Reason for Oba Femi relinquishing his WWE championship
There are currently big plans in place for Oba Femi. The star has a lot of work ahead of him as there are opportunities stepping up in front of him.
Femi vacated the WWE NXT Championship and he is now heading to the main roster instead. The video of him vacating the title emerged recently as well, showing him giving it up. It has since been confirmed by WWE as well.
As per a report by WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, Femi is currently expected to be a part of the RAW brand going forward. He is in fact supposed to debut on the card as part of the top of the roster. In fact, he is already set to be featured in a big way on WrestleMania.
The report also added that Femi relinquishing the title was because of big plans with the main roster and those with plans for him did not want him to take another loss, and that was the real reason that he was vacating it instead.
Given that Triple H is the head of creative, it appears that he has his eyes on Femi, although that has not been reported.
There are quite a few top young stars on the main roster now with the likes of Bron Breakker, Dominik Mysterio, Logan Paul, and a lot of others waiting to break through. Oba Femi would join that category as well, if not stepping up even more.
Oba Femi has become a huge name in WWE
While Femi is not a huge main roster star yet, it seems that it is not too far away from happening. He has already proven himself in NXT and his appearances have seen the interest surrounding the star go up.
His match against Cody Rhodes at Saturday Night’s Main Event was not allowed to end thanks to interference from Drew McIntyre, but it even looked like he was close to winning a title there.
If that ends up happening soon, he could hold a major title on the main roster.
