BREAKING: Drew McIntyre Shockingly Loses WWE Championship Match In Live Event Before SmackDown – Watch

Drew McIntyre has lost his WWE title match in a live event. This comes just days after he won his title last week, and it appears that he, unfortunately, is already picking up losses.

Drew McIntyre has lost his Undisputed WWE Championship match

Thankfully for McIntyre, the loss was by disqualification, so the star will retain his title despite an L on his record. However, now, the Scottish Superstar’s record is not going to be as immaculate as he would have wanted. The match was against none other than the former WWE Champion himself, Cody Rhodes.

Drew McIntyre has not made clean wins a priority in holding the Undisputed WWE Championship. For a long time now, he has been frustrated, as he has come close to winning everything and becoming the champion, only to fall short each time. This has seen him fight everyone from CM Punk, Damian Priest, Seth Rollins, and Cody Rhodes, among others, over the last few years.

Now, though, even his title win was marred by Jacob Fatu attacking Rhodes during the steel cage round of the three-stages-of-hell match, which allowed McIntyre to escape.

In Newcastle, Drew McIntyre saw that things were not going his way and decided to get disqualified. He used illegal means to attack Cody with a low blow, which led to the match ending abruptly. Cody Rhodes won, but did not get the title thanks to the DQ.

Cody Rhodes was not having it. The star was furious that the match ended in a disqualification, as it meant he would not get his title back. He hit McIntyre with a splash through a table, and then held the title over him before sending a warning that he would win it back.
