Mercedes Mone dropped a bombshell announcement this weekend on AEW TV, revealing that she would be stepping away from the company for some time. The erstwhile Sasha Banks has now posted a message for her followers on social media.
Things have not been going well for Mercedes Mone as of late, as she lost her only singles title in AEW, the TBS Championship, to Willow Nightingale last year on Dynamite: New Year’s Smash. This past Wednesday night, she was invited by The Babe with The Power to join her victory celebration in the ring alongside Harley Cameron and Kris Statlander. When she started trashing the setup of the party, Nightingale and her allies were quick to humiliate and shut down Mercedes, who furthermore ate a powerbomb from Willow.
This week’s edition of AEW Collision aired a video package in which “Ultimo” Mone revealed that she would be leaving All Elite Wrestling for some time. The CEO claimed that the company’s women’s division would keenly feel her absence during her hiatus. Furthermore, she delivered a warning to The Babes of Wrath and Kris Statlander, and promised that she would be claiming more than just championship belts when she returns.
Now, Mercedes has taken to X/Twitter to send a parting message to her followers, writing:
“Goodbye ๐๐พ๐ค,” posted Mone.

It remains to be seen when Mercedes Mone will return to All Elite Wrestling programming.
Mercedes Mone will likely not be leaving AEW anytime soon
Although Mercedes Mone has become one of AEW’s most bankable stars since her debut in 2024, speculations continue to circulate regarding her future, as a section of the fanbase wish for The Boss to return to her old stomping grounds, the WWE. During a recent Fightful Q&A session, Sean Ross Sapp clarified, however, that Mercedes will likely continue her All Elite Wrestling tenure, as she enjoys the creative freedom and schedule the promotion offers her. He also noted that there might be one more year left on the star’s current deal.
A deranged Mercedes Mone says she is taking a break from AEW, and will collect ‘more than just titles’ when she returns:
“You wanna smile and laugh and play hero? Well heroes don’t build divisions, icons do. For over 500 days I held that championship, not because I was lucky,โฆ pic.twitter.com/0MO129q3ut

While on hiatus from All Elite Wrestling, “9 Belts” Mone could defend her remaining titles on the independent circuit.
