BIG Star Rejoins WWE After 2119 Days – John Cena Secretly Responsible

A big star recently rejoined WWE after 2119 days. In recent years, fans have witnessed many names make a surprise return and re-sign with the Stamford-based company.

Last week, Matt Cardona, aka Zack Ryder, appeared on SmackDown, having shown up on the brand during the Last Time is Now Tournament. He faced Kit Wilson on Friday and emerged victorious.

Later, it was revealed that Cardona had re-signed with WWE after five years. While fans are excited to see what’s next for him, his wife, Chelsea Green, revealed how John Cena might have played a part in this blockbuster move.

Speaking on TMZ Sports’ Inside The Ring podcast, the Hot Mess mentioned that Cena had been supportive of Cardona’s journey ever since he was released by WWE in April 2020.

“He’s (John Cena) been very supportive throughout. Especially after Matt left WWE and was on the indies, he was very supportive of his journey to get back to WWE, because that was always Matt’s goal,” she said.

She then revealed that she thinks the Franchise Player had a role to play in Cardona achieving his goal.

“It’s been fun to go on those date nights and track the progression towards this goal, and then for John to help facilitate that as well; obviously Matt did all the hard work. But I really think that John helping him get into that tournament was what made WWE see, like, ‘Oh wow, that is a superstar that we need.’ He’s an indie star. But he is, at his core, a WWE superstar,” she added.

Chelsea Green revealed she came up with idea for John Cena’s new show

During the conversation with TMZ Sports, Chelsea Green revealed that she came up with the idea for the Junk or Jackpot? show. Notably, John Cena serves as the executive producer for the HGTV show.

She said that the idea came up when she and Matt Cardona were on a double date with Cena and his wife. Green debated with her husband whether some of his stuff was “junk,” leading to the premise of the show.

The 17-time World Champion also acknowledged this in a post on X (Twitter) ahead of the show’s premiere.
