The wrestling world lost one of the biggest names that the industry has ever seen when WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan passed away. For decades, the legend stood as the face of professional wrestling, carrying WWE through the years and later changing the industry again with some incredible storylines. Following his death, Netflix announced that a docuseries would be released about the veteran’s life, his rise to global fame, and the chapter that closed his legendary career.
Netflix’s Vice President of Sports, Gabe Spitzer, recently spoke with Varsity about the upcoming docuseries that fans have been waiting for. He shared that Hogan was filmed closely during his final time, giving the team a rare chance to capture real moments rather than just old memories. The company’s main goal is to reveal the real man behind the icon.
He revealed that the documentary will feature more than 20 hours of unseen footage recorded during Hogan’s final days, which could be one of the most emotional ways to pay tribute to the legendary name.
“Hulk Hogan, we had been filming with Hogan for 20 hours around the time of when he passed. We think that can be a good one,” he stated. [H/T Fightful]
Jake Paul gave a tribute to the WWE Hall of Famer recently
Jake Paul battled Anthony Joshua in a massive match at the Kayesa Centre in Miami. While Paul ultimately got destroyed, he made headlines with his tribute to Hulk Hogan during the battle.
Paul wore an outfit inspired by the Hulkster’s iconic yellow-and-red gear, which turned out to be a powerful emotional touch for fans around the world. Time will tell how Netflix pays tribute to the legend with their docuseries.
