WWE is now set to make a major rule change after a championship accidentally changed hands. This comes after a backstage report on the situation.
WWE is changing a major rule
At WWE NXT this week, a disaster occurred during the WWE NXT Women’s Championship Match between Blake Monroe and Thea Hail. Monroe had the wind knocked out of her when Hail was pinning her, and as a result, she ended up getting pinned. She threw her hand up, but her shoulder was not off the mat, and that led to her getting pinned as well.
This led to a title change as Thea Hail became the unplanned new NXT Women’s Champion, with Hail and Monroe both left shocked, staring at the referee to understand what had just happened. Because the count had gone through, Hail became the new champion, despite it never being the original plan.
Thea Hail > Blake Monroe
I do not even remotely care if it was a “botch” or even if “Thea went into business for herself” Thea deserved this moment.
Blake can cry, her fans can cry, the writers can cry IDGAF. I’m happy Thea is MY champ.

Fightful Select has now reported on it, revealing that everyone backstage was scrambling. The report said the segment in which Monroe confronted Hail after the match was not planned and was a last-minute change. This also meant there would be some rule changes going forward.
The rule was that wrestlers who were booked were now required to stay until the end of tapings in the future.
This means that even when pre-tapes are done for NXT on Mondays, then the stars are likely going to be needed to stay on through the following day as well.
Given the situation, the circumstances involving Blake Monroe and Thea Hail have yet to be resolved. There is going to be a rematch soon with NXT New Year’s Evil likely being when this ends up happening.
