Sheamus’ dream of facing John Cena in his final WWE match went up in flames after news broke that he suffered an injury. His replacement in the Last Time is Now Tournament seems to have been revealed.
Earlier today, WWE announced that The Celtic Warrior suffered a shoulder injury and that he won’t be medically cleared to compete in the Last Time is Now Tournament.
The Irishman was most recently seen in action during the November 17 edition of Monday Night RAW at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
He joined forces with John Cena and Rey Mysterio to defeat The Judgment Day in a six-man tag team match.
Sheamus has already defeated Shinsuke Nakamura in the first-round match.
The 47-year-old RAW star was now set to face LA Knight in the quarterfinal of the Last Time is Now Tournament before an untimely injury forced the creative to pull him from the competition.
During last night’s SmackDown, it was announced that Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis will have a meeting to determine who will fill the spot and face LA Knight on Friday Night SmackDown next week.
According to PWInsider, The Miz will step up to face LA Knight in the quarterfinal match on the go-home episode of SmackDown before Survivor Series: WarGames.

The Miz gets a second chance in WWE’s Last Time is Now Tournament
The Miz took an early exit from the Last Time is Now Tournament when he failed to beat Jey Uso on the November 14, 2025, edition of SmackDown.
Fans didn’t seem too happy with the outcome, as their match uploaded on WWE’s official YouTube channel amassed nearly 50k dislikes.
The A-Lister will now have a chance to redeem himself and move one step closer to facing John Cena at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13.
Interestingly, The Miz has never defeated LA Knight in singles competition.
Will he be able to pull off an upset win over The Megastar? Fans must tune in next Friday to find out.
