Cody Rhodes says he wants to “steal” as much as possible from John Cena ahead of WWE retirement

Cody Rhodes has solidified himself as the face of the WWE over the past few years. He was John Cena’s final WrestleMania opponent. In a recent interview, the American Nightmare stated that he wants to steal as much as he can from the Cenation leader before he retires.

The Cenation leader is just a few weeks away from retiring from in-ring competition. He is set to compete in his final match at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13th. His final opponent will be decided through a 16-man Last Time is Now Tournament. The tournament has already commenced with opening round matches taking place on RAW and SmackDown.

While speaking on his What Do You Wanna Talk About? podcast, the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes talked about Cena’s career. He stated that he tries to steal as much as he can from Cena before he hangs up the boots, specifically talking about his feats of strength.

“I always look at Cena’s career and I try to steal as much as I can. And one of the things that he did really well that I am trying to improve on myself is feats of strength. Feats of strength. He’d have this unbelievable, because he truly was,” (20:08 onwards)

Fans love to see Cody shower praise at the Last Real Champion like this ahead of his retirement.

John Cena won the Intercontinental Championship on RAW

This week’s episode of Monday Night RAW took place in the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. It was special since Boston is the hometown of Mr. Hustle, Loyalty and Respect. John Cena came out to open the show but was interrupted by Dominik Mysterio.

The King of Luchadores was trying to disrespect Cena which led to Triple H announcing an impromptu match between the two. After an intense bout and some hilarious spots, Cena beat Dirty Dom to capture the Intercontinental Championship for the first time in his career.

Fans went crazy after John Cena won the title and completed his Grandslam. He only has 3 dates left on his retirement tour and it will be interesting to see how Triple H books it.
