13-time champion announces WWE RAW return

A former champion announced on social media today that he will be making his return on tomorrow night’s edition of WWE RAW. The star in question has been absent as of late due to a “mental health break,” but will be returning on tomorrow night’s edition of RAW in New Mexico.

Woods has been upset in recent weeks on RAW after The New Day lost the World Tag Team Championships. He was not on last week’s show but revealed today that he would be returning tomorrow night on RAW while giving a tribute to popular musician D’Angelo, who sadly passed away last month. You can check out Woods’ message in the Instagram post below.

“See yall Monday. When we get by…,” he wrote.

The New Day lost the World Tag Team Championships to The Judgment Day’s Finn Balor and JD McDonagh on the June 30 episode of WWE RAW. AJ Styles and Dragon Lee recently captured the titles from Balor and McDonagh and will be defending the titles against them tomorrow night on the red brand.

Vince Russo criticizes Xavier Woods’ new WWE deal

Wrestling veteran Vince Russo recently shared his thoughts on Xavier Woods signing a new contract with WWE.

It was reported last month that Xavier Woods had signed a new contract with the promotion, and Russo reacted to it on Sportskeeda Wrestling’s Writing with Russo show. The legend stated that his issue was not just with the 39-year-old but with how the company constructed its roster. He claimed that the company had done everything it could with The New Day, and it was time to move on.

“You’ve done everything you possibly could with them. They’re old, they’re stale, and it’s time to move on. One of the reasons we’re not moving on is we’re not creating new stars. That’s one of the big reasons we’re not moving on. But what in God’s name are you going to do to reinvent Xavier Woods at this point?”

Grayson Waller used to be in the A-Town Down Under tag team with Austin Theory, but is now aligned with The New Day on WWE RAW. It will be interesting to see if Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston can capture the World Tag Team Championships once again in the weeks ahead.
